Virtual Prayer Chaplain Training

We know that with the COVID-19 restrictions, conducting annual training for your Prayer Chaplains has become more difficult. We have designed a 5-week virtual PC Training including weekly live Zoom sessions that you, the trainer, will conduct. The training material provides the following:

5-week training design with readings from PCM, supplemental reading material and exercises, and video links.
PowerPoint for each Zoom session with trainers notes.

In order to qualify to receive this material, you must have:

attended the Light and Love Ministries Prayer Chaplain Trainer's Workshop in-person or virtually since 2005.
the newly published Trainer's Guide in 2015. The new Trainer's Guide is available for sale in our product store.

If you wish to access this newly created virtual PC Training, please visit our product store and order the material. Once we receive your order, we will verify your eligibility with our master Trainer's list. Once verified, you will receive an email (within a week) from us requesting you to set up an account so that you may access the private web page where all the material is posted and downloadable for your use. The private website is on our website under the tab "PC Trainers" and "PC Training Resources."

We Need Connection Now More Than Ever

While your Prayer Chaplains may be physically distant from each other and their spiritual community, it is important that they stay connected. To support you in that effort, we are offering three downloadable products for free:

These valuable tools will give you lots of content to use with your Prayer Chaplains virtually (using Zoom, GoToMeeting, Skype or some other virtual meeting platform) or by sending through email.

Wellness Calling

In addition to keeping your PC's connect, we encourage you to focus on making sure they continue their wellness calling including having them make their calls from home. If you do not have a wellness calling program, consider dividing up your member list among your active and emeritus prayer chaplains and have them call to support your community in prayer. Prepare them that the calls may last longer than normal as congregants may just need to talk. While we still want to focus on our role as Prayer Chaplains, we understand that this is a time for flexibility and meeting the needs of our community members.

Now is a great time to reach out to your Emeritus Prayer Chaplains and involve them in the Prayer Chaplain activities - monthly meetings, wellness calling, monitoring church prayer phone lines, etc,
